The control provides infinite variable speed for shaded pole and PSC motors. The rated motor name plate amperage cannot exceed the max amps rating, as exceeding this would result in damage to the control and motor. To prevent the motor from burning up, it must be run with sufficient torque to prevent stalling. The motor must have a fan blade installed on the shaft (direct drive) to cool the motor. This control is not to be used with gear motors. Controls that have been installed are not returnable.
Designed for a standard 2" x 4" electrical wall box, this control has a max amps rating of 2.5 and operates at 115 Volts. It is UL and CSA approved. This control is not to be used with capacitor start or capacitor run motors.
The applications for this control include fans, blowers, fireplace blowers, attic fans, humidifiers, and ventilators.
